Sandie West is the Founder and Producer of the LA Punk Film Festival, an independent film festival created to champion fearless filmmaking, creative independence and the artists behind the work.
For more than a decade, Sandie has built the festival around a simple idea:
Independent filmmakers deserve to be seen.
What began as a celebration of punk and alternative cinema has grown into an international community connecting filmmakers, artists, musicians, actors, writers and audiences through theatrical screenings, filmmaker events, awards and international programming.
A CREATIVE PRODUCER
Sandie’s work sits at the intersection of film, wellness, creativity and independent culture.
As a producer, she is particularly interested in creating environments where artists can present their work professionally while maintaining the freedom, individuality and unconventional spirit that makes independent filmmaking so compelling.
The LA Punk Film Festival reflects that philosophy.

Sandie founded and continues to produce the LA Punk Film Festival, overseeing the festival’s programming, filmmaker relationships, events, partnerships, publicity, audience experience and overall creative direction.
The festival celebrates films across genres and countries, with a particular appreciation for work that is original, unconventional, provocative, personal or difficult to categorize.
For the 10th Anniversary, Sandie is expanding the festival’s reach through:
Live theatrical screenings
International streaming
Filmmaker interviews
Industry events
Festival awards show
International audience participation
and new opportunities for filmmakers to connect with audiences beyond the traditional screening.
BEACH DANCER FILMS
Sandie also works through Beach Dancer Films, an independent Los Angeles creative and production environment.
Beach Dancer Films provides a private setting for selected film-industry events, screenings, filmmaker gatherings, interviews and creative projects.
It serves as an important part of the LA Punk Film Festival’s Los Angeles presence, particularly for intimate industry and filmmaker programming.
THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY
The 10th Anniversary of LA Punk Film Festival represents both a milestone and a new chapter.
Sandie’s vision is to preserve the energy and independence that have defined the festival while creating a more connected international platform for filmmakers.
